NEW YORK—Nearly 150 teen-
agers age 15-18 are expected to

is an increase of approximately 50
over last year.

teen-agers is sponsored by the

Susan Merson Wins
Susan Merson, a senior at South-
field High School, received the
school's Good Citizenship Award
from the Daughters of the Ameri-
can Revolution Monday at a lunch-
eon in honor of her and five other
senior girls from Oakland County.

Honor Society, president of the
Thespians and the lead in the
school's presentation of "S out h
Pacific." She also narrates "Broad-

sented on Southfield High's radio

Susan, selected by her school
for the DAR award, was named
for her qualities of dependability,
service, leadership and patriot-
ism. She will go on to compete
at the state level for U.S. Sav-
ings Bonds.

summer in Europe with the Good-
will Youth Choir. She was the 1967
state winner in serious interpreta-
tive reading for the Michigan High
School Forensic Association a n d
was recipient of the 1967 Princi-

program will be lectures by top

academic leaders. A special study
program will take place in Jeru-
salem.
Biblical landmarks and holy
places of many faiths will be
visited by the young people. Field
trips to archaeological sites and a
work period on a kibutz also are
planned in the Israel Tour for
Teen-agers program.
Last summer, students who par-

Detroit; Barbara and Gary Goren

A rally of teen-agers, aged 13 to 17, will take place Sunday,
3 p.m., at the Zionist Cultural Center in Southfield for the purpose
of explaining the scholarships that are being offered by the Zionist
Organization of Detroit for prospective summer campers in Israel and
for a student who is to be awarded a year's study at the Mollie
Goodman High School of Kfar Silver in Israel. The accompanying
photo shows American students attending the Mollie Goodman High
School sponsored by the Zionist Organization of America. The De-
troiter, attending the school on a scholarship he won among a number
of contestants as an awardee of the Zionist Organization of Detroit,
