Diners' Club Acquires Creditors Service
Established by Detroit er Sidney J. Winer

The Diners' Club, Inc., announc-
ed in New York the acquisition of
Creditors Service. Inc., of Detroit
and all of their affiliated com-
panies, Alfred Bloomingdale, pre-
sident and chief executive officer
of the Diners' Club, stated that
the cash transaction was another
step in its efforts to provide a
complete financial services pack-
age.
Creditors Service. Inc., was es-
tablished in Detroit in 1936 by
Sidney J. Winer, a life-long De-
troit resident. It has been owned
and operated by him since that
time. Winer, a past president of

and Minneapolis. He has been ac-
tive in many civic groups and has

frequently been honored by the
major national trade associations
in his field.

The acquisition of Creditors Ser-
vice creates the largest collection
agency complex in the world, with

current listings of $75,000,000 an-
nually, and approximately 750
employes.
Bloomingdale announced that
Winer will be chairman of the
board of the new organization, and

Gordon C. Fletcher will be presi-
dent and chief executive officer,
