Arts and Crafts and Mercantile Divisions
Share Allied Campaign Honors on Stag Day

The arts and crafts and mercan-
tile divisions of the 1967 Allied
Jewish Campaign tied for first
place in the traditional race for
the greatest percentage increase
in contributions over the prior
year's gifts.
The giant loving cup was award-
ed at the Detroit S∎ vice Group's
stag day held Thursday at Knoll-
wood Country Club. George D.
Keil, president of the group and
chairman of trades and profes-
sions for the campaign, made the
presentation.
The traditional cup has been
awarded yearly since 1953.
Small replicas of the cup were
given to Richard L. Kux, chair-
man of the arts and crafts division.

cently minted by the Bank of
Israel to commemorate Israel's
victory against aggression and to

cially imported from Israel.

book overlaid with white orchids
rimmed in gold. Angela Jane
Milea of New York City was ma-
tron of honor. Lawrence Edward
Fisher, brother of the bridegroom,

Sinai Graduates
36 New Nurses

Mrs. Phyllis Townsend, consult-
ant in practical nursing for the
Michigan Board of Nursing, de-
livered the commencement address
to the 36 members of the 20th
graduating class of Sinai Hospital's
Shapero School of Nursing Thurs-
day night at the Jewish Center.
Shapero School was built in 1956
with a gift from the Nate S. and
Ruth B. Shapero and Cunningham

Drug Co. Foundations. Through its
most recent graduating class, Sha-

pero School has produced 767
practical nurses who have ranked
first in the state licensing exami-
nations each year since 1958.
This most recent class is the
first to graduate since Shapero
School became the fifth practical

nursing school in the nation to
receive accreditation by the Na-

tional League for NurOng.
