troiter of Miami Beach, died April
11. Survived by his wife, Ida; a
son, Herman; two step-sons, Irving
and Allen Simon of Los Angeles;
two daughter s, Mrs. Hyman
(Sylvia) Rosenberg and Mrs. Allen
(Rosalie) Benjamin; three broth-
ers and 10 grandchildren.
Mrs. Hass, Leader
at Temple Israel
Sophie Hass. an active leader in
temple sisterhood groups, died
April 6 at age 65.
Mrs. Hass, a member of the
board of Temple Israel and a past
president of the Michigan Federa-
tion of Temple Sisterhoods, was to
have been chairman of the state I
group's convention this week in
Flint.
In addition, Mrs. Hass was a
board member of the National Fed-
eration of Temple Sisterhoods, a
past member of the board of
Brandeis University Associates and
a member of Hadassah. She also
was chairman for nine years of
the day camp committee of the
Jewish Center.
The Hass lecture series at
Temple Israel was named for Mrs.
Hass' late son, Daniel.
Born in Easton, Pa., Mrs. Hass
was a Detroit resident 47 years.
She lived at 1350 Strathcona.
Survivors are her husband, Ar-
thur J.; a son. Dr. William K.; a
sister, Mrs. Frances Schoenfeld of
Youngstown, 0.; and three grand-
children.

Ida B. Savage, a member of
Hadassah, Women's American ORT
and Order of the Eastern Star,
died Tuesday at age 78.
Mrs. Savage, 19444 Parkside,
was born in New York and lived
in Detroit the past 16 years. She
leaves her husband, Philip J.; two
daughters, Mrs. Sidney J. (Max-
ine) Bertin and Mrs. Arnold (Le-
nore) Greer; five grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren. .
