Israeli Program to Take
U.S. High School Students

NEW YORK — A program for
a year's study in Israel for sec-
ond-year American high school
students, beginning with the 1967-
68 academic year, will be offered
by the America-Israel Secondary
School Program , it was announced
by Rabbi Mordecai Chertoff, di-
rector of the newly organized
group, which has offices at 515
Park Ave., New York City.
Two leading Israeli secondary
schools, Alonei Yitzchak in the.
Shomron Valley about five miles
from Caesaria, and Shafir's Yeshi-
vat Or Etzion, in the Lachish area,
near Ashkelon, are participating

in the program.

Both schools will offer full Am-
erican second-year high school
programs augmented by special
courses in the Hebrew language
and Israeli studies.
The academic year, which will
begin in September, 1967, will be
preceded by a six-weeks course
in Hebrew, beginning in July, at
an ulpan in Israel.
