NEW YORK—Reba Paeff Mir-
sky, musician, educator and author
of children's books, died Nov. 22
at age 64.
Mrs. Mirsky, whose husband. Dr.
Alfred E. Mirsky is a biochemist
and professor at Rockefeller Uni-
versity, was formerly on the musi-
cal faculties of the New School for
Social Research and the Fieldston
Lower School in the Bronx.
She had played piano, harpsi-
chord, flute, recorder, virginal and
clavichord, and performed in many
concerts.
Among the many books she wrote
for children was "Thirty-One
Brothers and Sisters," about a Zulu
girl, for which she received the
Charles W. Follett Award, a $3,000
prize and a gold medal. She wrote
sequels while on a Guggenheim
fellowship in Zululand.
Noted Chicago Rabbi
CHICAGO (JTA) — Dr. Morris
Teller, rabbi emeritus of the South
Side Hebrew Congregation, died of
a heart attack here at age 76.
Born in Galician Poland, Rabbi
Teller was formerly president of
the Allied Jewish School Board of
Chicago, of the Rabbinical Asso-
ciation of Chicago, of the Chicago
Region of the Rabbinical Assem-
bly of America and of the South
Shore Ministerial Association.
