Ford, Coca-Cola on Arab Boycott Blacklist

LONDON (JTA) — Ford Motor
Company and the Coca-Cola Cor-
poration are to be boycotted in
Arab countries for trading with
Israel, it was reported here from
Kuwait. where a conference of
representatives of the Arab Boy-
cott League has been meeting.

conference has been discussing be-
hind closed doors action against
more than 20 firms allegedly trad-
ing with Israel. Conference sources
were reported to have indicated
that resolutions had been passed

Monument to Martyrs
Unveiled in E. Germany

BONN (JTA) — A monument to
the 40,000 Jews who were slaught-
ered by the Nazis in Leipzig, now
in East Germany, has been unveil-
ed there by Paul Froelich, a mem-
ber of the central committee of
East Germany's Communist Party,
it was reported here.
It was also disclosed that Adolf
Diamant, a member of the Jewish
community of Frankfurt, had con-
veyed to the Jews of East Ger-
many the greetings of the Central
Council of German Jews of West
Germany and of Rabbi A. Lichtig-
field of the state of Hesse in West
Germany.

BATH, Me. (JTA) — William
Zorach, Lithuanian - born Jewish
artist whose sculptures included
biblical figures, died here Nov. 15
at age 79.
Zorach rose from the back-
ground of poverty of his immigrant
parents, who fled Czarist persecu-
tion of the Jews, to become one
of the most successful artists, with
his works being exhibited in more
than 80 museums and galleries. His
last work was of two women and
a child entitled "The Wisdom of
Solomon."

Of the nine major planets, all
but Mercury, Venus and Pluto have
satellites.
