their 50th wedding anniversary
Sunday at a family dinner party
given in their honor by their chil-
dren, Sam, Alvin and Sidney, at
Raleigh House.
Mr. Wasserman, a retired scrap
metal dealer, came to Detroit 48
years ago from Hartford, Conn.,
where he settled upon coming to
this country.
The couple will spend the entire
winter in Israel and will return
for Passover.
They have 10 grandchildren and
one great-grandchild.
Mr. Wasserman has been a
member of Bnai Brith for many
years, belongs to Beth Aaron Syna-
gogue and is former president of
a landsmanshaften organization.
His wife is in the synagogue sister-
hood, Pioneer Women and Hadas-
sah.

Society of Israel Philatelists will
be main attraction of the Detroit
Chapter meeting 8:30 p.m. Tues-
day at the Oak Park Community
Center.
The program will include all
phases of the philately of the
concentration camps, many rare
stamps and cancellations collected
through a worldwide search by
former inmates. This slide program
has been shown in many European
countries and in Israel. All in-
terested persons are invited,

she describes as "a Cook's tour of

New Idea Cookbook," published by
Random.
Among her source books is "The
Art of Jewish Cooking" by Jennie
Grossinger, which also was pub-
lished by Random.
Thus, while Miss Wood's is not
a Jewish cookbook, it contains a
number of good Jewish recipes
sufficient to add to the interna-
tional interest in the new "Idea
Cookbook."
