Art Collector Harry L. Winston Dies

Wyandotte Businessman,
Isadore Podolsky, Dead

Isadore Podolsky, founder and
president of Beverage Distribution
Co., died Monday at age 83. Mr.
Podolsky's Stroh distributing com-
pany was at 511 Cedar, Wyandotte.
He founded the firm in 1922 and
was active in Downriver civic af-
fairs for 50 years.
Mr. Podolsky, 19000 Fairway, was
a founder of the Wyandotte Yacht
Club and belonged to the Down--
river Chamber of Commerce,
Greater Wyandotte Board of Com-
merce, Wyandotte Merchants As-
sociation and the Michigan Beer
and Wine Wholesalers Association.
In Jewish communal activities,
he was a member of Theodor Herzl
Lodge of Bnai Brith, Businessmen's
Club of . the Jewish Center and
Cong. Shaarey Zedek. He also was
an honorary board member of the
Wyandotte General Hospital Me-
morial Fund.
Russian-born Mr. Pod o l s k y
leaves two sons, Seymour and Har-
old; a daughter, Mrs. Irving (Hel-
en) Posner; a brother, Benjamin,
and six grandchildren.

Dr. Miral, Physician
for 31 Years, Succumbs

Dr. Solomon Peter Miral, phy-
sician for 31 years, died Wednes-
day at age 58.
Dr. Miral, 23481 Sussex, Oak
Park, was a graduate of old Cen-
tral High School, Detroit City Col-
lege and the Detroit College of
Medicine, now Wayne State Uni-
versity's medical school.
Born in New Jersey, Dr. Miral
lived here since age 5. He was a
member of Maimonides Medical
Society, Wayne County Medical
Society, American Medical Asso-
ciation, Detroit Consistory and
Moslem Temple, Crescent Shrine
Club, Perfection Lodge F&AM,
Pisgah Lodge of Bnai Brith and
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Dr. Miral leaves his wife, Sara;
two sons, Allen and Leon; two
daughters, Mrs. Barbara Levine
and Mrs. Frederick (Myrna) Lo-
ceff; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Winston, 483 Aspen, Birm-
ingham, was a director and former
president of Boys Republic and a
director of the Aaron Mendelson
Foundation. In addition, he be-
longed to the Bloomfield Open
Hunt Club, Greater Detroit Board
of Commerce and Economic Club.
Assisted by his wife Lydia,
daughter of the industrial archi-
tect Albert Kahn, Mr. Winston be-
gan to build his collection in 1938.
Besides his wife, Mr. Winston is
survived by a son, Harry L. Jr.;
two daughters, Mrs. Eliot Robin-
son and Mrs. Herbert Ruben and
nine grandchildren.

Former School Coach
Sander Hillman Dies

Sander A. (Sonny) Hillman,
businessman and former physical
education instructor af Wayne
State University and Eastc_ii High
School, died Tuesday at age 48.
Mr. Hillman, owner of Master
Drapery Services, 14832 Schaefer,
headed the Army physical fitness
program at WSU from 1941 to
1943 and afterward taught and
coached football at Eastern High
to 1947.
A 1939 graduate of Michigan
State University, Mr. Hillman re-
ceived his masters degree from
Wayne. Born in Englewood, N.J.,
he lived in Detroit for 25 years.
He was a member of Cong.
