Rice s Works Performed Without
Elmer Rice in Attendance at WSU

'

Dr. John M. Dorsey, the Univer-
sity Professor at Wayne State Uni-
versity, the charming host who has
presided at many noteworthy WSU
functions, and Mrs. Dorsey, again
hosted an impressive dinner party
for about 100 guests on April 8.
The occasion was the presenta-
tion, as a program in American
Studies, of selections from the
plays by Elmer Rice.
The noted playwright was to
have been the guest at the dinner
and at the • staging of his plays'
selections. But he was prevented
from coming here by injuries he
sustained in an automobile acci-
dent.

the dinner, at which Ben Rose, a
member of the WSU board of
governors was one of the dais
guests, Morton Zieve directed a
reading from Elmer Rice's "Street
Scene" with Paul Stolarsky, Eliza-
beth Weiss, Ruben Weiss and Mary
Lou Zieve.
