Honors Kasles' Golden, Wedding,

Abe Kasle's Seventieth Birthday

Abe Kasle, a leader in Detroit's philanthropic movements for 30 years,
who has made the sponsorship of educational projects his major life interest,
is establishing a Kasle Educational Fund that will be in the six figure
classificiation.
Mr. Kasle announced the projected plan for a large educational fund,
on the eve of the 70th birthday he is to reach on March 18, at the 50th anni-
versary celebration that was arranged for him and his wife, Pearl, by his
children.
The golden wedding celebration took place last Saturday night at the

Bonn's Yielding to 'Blackmail'
Gets Worldwide Rebukes; Israel
Rejects Monetary Compensation

Widely-Distributed Spanish Diary
Contains a Kill Jews' Propaganda

PARIS (JTA) — A Spanish diary, openly sold and widely distributed
in the Spanish province of Catalognia, unashamedly calls for the "killing of
Jews." The diary, on the page for March 25, 1965, has a short poem which
reads: "Jesus has been resurrected—the time has come to pick up your

hammers and kill the Jews."
Recent Spanish publications, including school texts, contain other anti-
Semitic material. A school primer for 7-year-olds has a special chapter on
the "real nature" of the Jews. The chapter consists mainly of a "description"
of ritual murders allegedly perpetrated by Jews in the Middle Ages.
That chapter is followed by a number of "suggestions" for the teacher,

including such proposals as: "Ask your class for other examples of Jewish

treachery and murder" and "ask the class whether they would be brave
enough to defy the Jewish killers, like the boy in the story, for the sake
of the Catholic religion."

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel's Knesset (Parliament), by a vote of 54 to 26,
Monday night supported Premier Levi Eshkol's rejection of West Germany's
offer of monetary compensation for breaking Bonn's previous agreement to
supply arms to Israel, and declared that "the recent developments demand that
Israel reconsider its relations with Germany."
Summarizing the debate in the Knesset that followed his presentation of the
case against Bonn, Eslikol expressed his appreciation of "the unity of the house in
its condemnation of German surrender to Egyptian blackmail," and declared:
"The Knesset would . like to see a continuation of relations between us and Ger-
many, based on our demands. Germany's action is one of surrender to pressure,
and may cause the breakdown of our bridge—a fact that would force us to look
for ways to rehabilitate the relationship."
In its motion, the Knesset resolved: "We express shock and anger over the
intention to stop security assistance to Israel. This intention, if effected, would be
tantamount to surrender to the hostile Nasser policy against Israel."
After declaring that the development requires reconsideration of Israel i-
German relations, the resolution continued: "We support the government of Israel
in its demand that West Germany continue its earlier agreement (for supply of
arms to Israel). Financial compensation does not release the German
government from its obligations.
"The people of Israel and its Knesset are encouraged by - the
identification with her security needs expressed by the Jewish
people and by world public opinion in their protests to Germany
against the German government's surrender to the blackmail by
the ruler of Egypt."
Eshkol accused West Germany of reneging on its "duty" to help
Israel, surrendering to Egyptian "blackmail" by ordering the stop-
page of arms shipments to Israel, and declared categorically that
Israel will refuse to accept monetary compensation from Bonn
for its denial of the military equipment which Israel needs. He
concluded his lengthy address by stating:
"On the plane of the relations between Israel and Germany,
let it be perfectly plain and open: Germany's duty is to help Isriel
with the equipment necessary for her security, and no compensation
