The Criterion Club, civic, social,
and cultural organization for single
adults, will open a series of pro-
zrams with a concert-musicale 9
p.m. Saturday at Cong. Beth Moses.

At a dinner given in their
honor Saturday evening by their
children, Mr. and Mrs. Izidor Katz
of Kingswood Ave. celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary at
Stouffer's Northland Inn.
Commemorating their parents'
anniversary, the Katz children,
Donald, Wilfred and Mrs. Joseph
Kaufman have formed the Sarah
and Izidor Katz Scholarship Loan
Fund at Wayne State University.
Mrs. Katz, born in Sajo-Szent-
peter, Hungary, came to the United
at age 19. She lived in New York
City for several years before com-
ing to Detroit where she met and
married Izidor Katz. then a Ham-
tramck grocer. Mr. Katz, a native
of Nlunkach. Hungary, came to
America in 1910 and eventually
founded Detroit's John R. Lumber
Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Katz have eight
grandchildren, all in Detroit.
They have been active at Cong.
Bnai Moshe since the synagogue
was founded. Mr. Katz is a mem-
ber of the Knights of Pythias, and
she is a member of Hadassah,
Home Relief, National Council of
Jewish Women, Hungarian Ladies
Aid and the Jewish Home for
the Aged.

Dr., Southfield, was united in mar-
riage to Dr. Herbert A. Brode, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brode of
Whitcomb Ave. Rabbis Richard C.
Hertz and Morris Adler officated.
The bride was gowned in peau
de soie. The Empire bodice was
fashioned in silk Alencon corded
lace with short sleeves and a
rounded neckline. A detachable
wateau back train of peau de sole
was bordered in the matching lace.
She wore a- tiny cap of petals and
pearls with a shoulder-length pouf
veil.
The bride carried her confirma-
tion Bible with white orchids.
Mrs. William S. Floyd was
matron of honor, and the brides-
maids were Mesdames Thomas
-sg. Shook, Gerald Cooper, Milford
Sobel, Robert Tam and Judy
Moery.
Linda Floyd and Margo Sobel
were flower girls; Scott Floyd was
ring bearer.
Best man was Milford Sobel. and
seating the guests were Dr. Wil-
liam S. Floyd, Dr. Ralph Coskey.
Dr. Marvin Forrest, William Roth-
man and Norman Brock. Curt and
Michael Sobel served as junior
ushers.
After a honeymoon in Jamaica
and New York. Dr. and Mrs. Brode
will reside in Lincolnbriar Apart-
ments.
