Community Workshop at Meeting

Isadore Brown President
at Special Ceremonies

Arlazaroff Branch-, Farband, will
install its newly elected officers
8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Labor
Zionist Institute.
President is `Isadore Brown, and
Harry Schumer is honorary presi-
dent. Others are Louis Levine and
Harry Mondry, vice presidents;
I. Woodrow and Harry Resnick,
secretaries; Leo J. Cohen, treas-
urer; David Sislin, executive ar.d
cultural chairman; and Morritz
Schubiner, Israel Weisman and
Regina Weisman, hospitalers.
Movsas Goldoftas, director of the
Hayim Greenberg Hebrew-Yiddish
Shule, will be installing officer for
the evening. which also will mark
the celebration of Tu b'Shevat. Re-
freshments will be served. Guests
invited.

planned by Miss Clara MacLean
and Mr. Phillip Eichner. The bride
is the daughter of Mrs. Cecile
Smith of Tuller Ave. Her fiance is

The Jewish News regrets the
omission of Mr. George Wein-
garden's name from the announce-
ment of the recent marriage of
Donna Lee Weingarden to Allan
Joel Pearlman. Mr. Weingarden,
father of the bride, lives on Cran
brook Dr.

The annual meeting of the Jew-
ish Welfare Federation of Detroit
will be held 8 p.m. Feb.- 10 at the
Jewish Center.
The meeting, which traditionally
honors a local agency, will this
year honor two: . the Hebrew Free
Loan Association and the Com-
munity WorkShop, both of which
celebrate major anniversaries this
year, the 70th for the Hebrew
Free Loan Association, and the
10th for the Workshop.
Among items on the program
will be election of members-at-
large to the Federation Board of
Governors. The nominating com-
mittee, headed by Milton J. Miller,
has named for re-election to three-
year terms Mandell L. Berman,
Max M. Fisher, Jack 0. Lefton,
Alan E. Schwartz, Abe Shiffman,
Rabbi Joshua Sperka and Stanley
J.Winkelm an.
For election as new members
the names of Mrs. Hyman C.
Broder and Maxwell Jospey will
be proposed. Serving on the
nominating committee with Mil-
ler are. Paul Broder, Edward I.
Fleischman, Mrs. Benjamin
Jones and Mrs. HaroleA. Robin-
son.
An amendment to the Federation
by-laws will be proposed, to per-
mit holding the annual meetings
of Federation at the most appro-
priate dates as determined by the
board of governors.
A feature of the meeting will be
the presentation of the Fred M.

Butzel Memorial Award, the De-
troit Jewish community's highest
honor. The award recipient is
selected by a committee made up
of the presidents of the member
agencies of the Federation and
previous award winners. Recipient
last year was Max M. Fisher.

Topic Accent on Youth

The younger generation will spro-
vide the theme for a meeting of
the Married Couples Club of Bnai
Moshe 8 p.m. Monday at the home
of the Louis Landaus, 24231 Gard-
ner, Oak Park.
