Publication of the new 1965 Di-
rectory of Israel Products on sale
in the United States has been an-
nounced by Dr. Max Leron. Israel
trade commissioner in the United
States, and Eli Houseman. execu-
tive secretary of the American-
Israel Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, Inc.
The directory lists 182 types of
products and services in 21 cate-
gories. .which are regularly sold
or made available through estab-
lished commercial firms in this
country. It was published jointly
by the trade commissioner's office
and the Chamber.
"The 'Made in Israel' label."
said Dr. Leron, "is finding great-
er acceptance in a wider range
of U.S. outlets. This is attributed
not only to quality. but to the'
increasing variety of products
being exported. Today, the finest
Fifth Avenue shops, as well as
retail chains. and department
stores in major cities throughout
the country, are all selling
Israeli merchandise."
The trade commissioner re-
ported that Israel's exports to the
U.S. reached a new high of $54,-
000,000 during 1964, as against
$47,000.000 in 1963. By developing
its exports, he noted. Israel can
make progress in narrowing its
trade gap with the United States.
