Center Gets Assist of Women's Groups Smiler-Simons Troth
in Efforts for Retarded Young People Is Announced Here
Mrs. Nathan Yost, president
of the Northwest Child Rescue
Women Organization, announced
a renewal of an arrangement
with the Jewish Center for co-
sponsorship of a group work and
recreational program to meet
the special needs of retarded
youth and young adults of the
community.
This program, now in its
fourth year. is under the super-
vision of specially trained mem-
bers of the Center's social work
staff. who help the young people
plan their own program. There
are presently threes groups at
the Center; for 15-25-year-old
boys; 15-25-year-old girls; and
25-50-year-old adult group. It is
focused on an effort to increase
the participant's capacity to func-
tion socially. Activities have con-
sisted of gym and swim nights.

holiday parties and, each year,
winter and summer Camp Tama-
rack trips.

Inc., reported to the stockholders
at their annual meeting that net
earnings for the thirteen week
quarter ended Sept. 26 were $797,-
000 after provision of $800,000 for
federal income taxes and were
equivalent to 33 cents a share on
the 2,413,898 shares outstanding.
Quarterly earnings were 39% over
the $572,000, or 23 cents a share
earned in the comparable period
in 1963 on the 2,445,024 shares
then outstanding.

year from Miami University, Ox-
ford, 0., majoring is sociology. She
worked for the Jewish Family and
Children's Service during the sum-
mer of 1962 as a student observer
and is currently with the Chil-
dren's Division.
