Lubavitcher publishing house, an-
nounced that' a rare manuscript of
Hassidic discourses delivered 163
years ago by Rabbi Shneur Zalman
of Liadi. would be published here
this week for the first time.
Rabbi Shneur Zalman, founder
of the Chabad - Lubavitch move-
ment, was also author of the "Tan-
ya," considered the most basic
work of Chabad philosophy, and
author of the Shulchan Aruch. the
Code of Jewish Law, and many
other works.

few notations by Rabbi Shneur
Zalman's grandson, Rabbi Mena-
chem Mendel, successor to Rabbi
Dovber and who later became
known by the name of his famous
Talmudic response, "T z e m a c h

The manuscript was missing
from the Lubavitcher archives for
several decades but was recently
retrieved by the Lubavitcher
Rebbe, Rabbi M e n a c h e m M.
Schneerson, the world leader of
the Lubavitpher movement who re-
sides in New York.
The book will contain 332 pages
including various appendum and
a facsimile of the original manu-
script.
The new book is said to con-
tain Hassidic teachings and inter-
pretations heretofore unknown in
the annals of Hassidic thought.
