Ralph Levy is currently direct-
ing the Aaron Rosenberg-Martin
Melcher production of "Do Not
Disturb" in which Doris Day stars
as she did in Rosenberg's earlier
20th-Century-Fox 'epic, "Move. Over
Darling" that grossed more than
510,000.000. The latter was orig-
inally fashioned by George Cukor
for Marilyn Monroe. The current
offering has been written by Milt
Rosen and Richard Breen.

Anti-Nazi Film in Rome

Director Mark Robson is in
Rome completing production on
the anti-Nazi film, "Von Ryan's
Express" with Frank Sinatra and
Trevor Howard. Saul David signs
as producer; Wendell Mayes and
Joseph Landon wrote the script
from David Westheimer's novel.
The story deals with a POW mass

camps. Oddly enough, the picture
won Steiger the "Best-Actor"
award in Berlin this year—in spite
of its unmistakenly anti-German
tendency. Ely Landau who also
produced Lumet's "Long Day's
Journey Into Night" is responsible
for "The Pawnbroker." In the
meantime, the prolific Mr. Lumet
has gone to England to shoot a
high-budget film for' Seven Arts
Production in association with
London's Metro - Goldwyn - Mayer
Studios.

Gadna of Israel
Appears Oct. 24

The Israel National Youth Sym-
phony, GADNA, currently on its
first tour of the United States and
Canada, will appear in Detroit,
Saturday, Oct. 24, at Masonic Audi-
torium. The prize-winning sym-
phonic group, which will be heard
in 35 cities on this debut tour,
will be under the distinguished Is-
raeli conductor, Shalom Ronly
Riklis.
The orchestra will offer a varied
program of classical, romantic and
contemporary works, highlighted
by the appearance of Miriam
Fried, violinist, as featured solo-
ist.
Made up of teen-agers, Gadna
was created 14 years ago to give
Israeli youngsters an outlet for
self - expression and a common pur-
pose to take good music to every
corner of their new nation. It is
the outgrowth of the IsFaeli Youth
Corps called "Gadna." The original
orchestra personel was drawn from
members of that movement, and
each year the older members of
the group are replaced by younger
players, thereby retaining its ob- ,
jeetive. The name "Gadna" is also
retained as a symbol of the origins
and spirit of this gifted organiza-
tion.
