`Jewish Tradition' Course to Be Taught at McGill

Public Library, Montreal, has
been appointed a lecturer in the
department of religion in the Fac-

Eleven new Hebrew Day Schools,
including five at the high school
level, have been established . with
the openling of the 1964-65 school
year, in various parts of the United
States and Canada.
Samuel C. Feuerstein, president
of Torah Umesorah, the national
society for Hebrew Day Schools,
said the newly-established schools
bring the number of Hebrew Day
Schools in the United States to a
total of 289, with another 21
schools functioning in Canada. Pre-
liminary enrollment figures in-
dicate 56.500 students. an increase
of 5% with a strong possibility
that the increase may go as high
as 10%,
Friends of Hillel Day School will hold its first fund-raising
affair 12:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek. Dessert luncheon
will be served, after which the program will feature book reviewer
