Morris Shoop, retired furni-

Mr. Shoop, 72, born in Russia,

In Memoriam
Isaac Tamaren, 18491 Ken-
tucky, died March 20 at age 72.
Mr. Tamaren was one of the
original founders of the Taylor
Synagogue and was its treas-
urer 10 years.
He was one of the early sup-
porters of the Allied Jewish
Campaign and participated in
the ground-breaking exercises of
the Philadelphia-Bryon branch
of United Hebrew Schools.
More than 50 years ago, Mr.
Tamaren helped organize the
Lowenstein Beef Co., and 42
years ago, organized the Tama-
ren Beef Co. here. He was a
member of the Jewish Nation-
al Fund, Mizrachi, Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, Young Israel
and many synagogues in De-
troit.
Mr. Tamaren is survived by
his wife, Jennie; a son, Fred-
erick of Cleveland; a daughter,
Mrs. Sam S. (Gail) Novetsky;
eight grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.

Tel Aviv on Monday of Mrs.
Leah Heyman, wife of Dr. Is-
rael Heyman, native Detroiter
who is now one of Israel's lead-
ing pediatricians.
Both had been here several
times and are well known to
many Detroiters. They have a
large family here.
The deceased, a graduate of
the Hebrew University, was a
scientist and a linguist.
Besides her husband, she is
survived by two sons and her
parents of Rehovoth.
