Brak". The magnitude of her
daily concern involves the Batei
Avot Children's Town for boys
and girls from 24 countries, the
preparatory Yeshiva for out-
standing youths, the Kollel
Avrechim, the Yarchei Kallah,
and the great Yeshiva. She su-
pervises the preparation of 3600
meals daily, the laundry de-

stocks, maintenance of 35 build-

halls, libraries and dormitories.
The main Beis-Medrash which
seats 1,000 contains the famous
Holy Ark, intricately carved,
from Mantua, Italy.
The cornerstone was recently
laid and construction begun on
the new Yeshiva City to arise
in Ashdod. This will also house
the children now being brought
in from Algeria who have found
temporary housing in various
French communities. It will
also accommodate the huge
over overflow demand from
both Israel a n d countries
throughout the world from stu-
dents who wish to enroll in the
various preparatory and ad-
vanced branches of the Yeshiva.
Rabbi Kahaneman, the lone
survivor of the rabbinate of the
decimated Lithuanian Jewish
communities, has become a
legendary figure during his life-
time.
