Krakow-Weitzer
Troth Announced
A medical student from Wayne State University, Joel Nitzkin,
of 24051 Berkely, Oak Park, is on leave of absence from Wayne
to do a year's special study in the Hematology Department of
the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Nitzkin, who has finished his sophomore year, said: "I wanted
to take a year off from Wayne University to do research under
Professor G. Izak, Head of the Hematology Department of the
Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. So far I have been
working too hard to see much of Israel. I expected Hadassah
to be modern and well equipped, but I must say I didn't expect
it to be as good as it is. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a very
strong faculty and I din learning a lot." Among the other stu-
dents working in the Hematology Department are a Burmese
doctor from Rangoon General Hospital and several fourth year
students from the Albert Einstein University.
David and Grace Zellman of Monica Ave. celebrated their 47th
wedding anniversary with a dinner at their home on Labor Day.
They were joined by the Mother Zellman Family Club, the Brown
family and close friends.
The Don Frohman Chorus will begin rehearsals 8-10 p.m.
Monday at the Mumford High School auditorium (room 123). New
members will be accepted until Oct. 1. For information, call
Frohman, director, DI 1-3776.
People Make News
The Hadassah-Hebrew Univer-
sity Medical Center still has
outstanding debts, in addition
to its requirements for daily
operation. Most important, Mrs.
Benson stressed, is the facility's
need to continue its pioneering
research efforts, which already
have distinguished the institu-
tion.
Among other Hadassah enter-
prisies are its activities in edu-
cation and vocational guidance,
health, welfare and land recla-
mation.
