Hold Convention
Al Rosen, Department com-
mander and Mrs. Sidney Cohen,
Department Auxiliary president,
have appointed William Snider-
man and past Department presi-
dent Esther Feld as co-chairmen
of the 22nd annual Department
convention of the Jewish War
Veterans May 25-26 at the Jew-
ish War Veterans Memorial
Home.
. Some of the highlights will
be the election of new officers,
two membership trophies, com-
munity relations, historian book
and the annual scholarship
awards to a deserving boy and
girl. Saul Glosser and Mrs. Irv-
ing Ryke are co-chairmen of
the awards committee.
The winners who will receive
their scholarships on Sunday
are Michael Luxenberg of
Henry Ford High School, who
plans to attend University of
Michigan, and Roberta Granke
of St. Lawrence High School in
Utica, who plans to attend
Marygrove College.
Richard Kozlow Wins Top Prize
in 53rd Michigan Artists Exhibit
Richard Kozlow, 18904 Rose-
lawn, has been named winner
of the top Founders Society
Purchase award of $1,500 for
his painting of Spanish moun-
tains, "Soledad," in the 53rd
Annual Exhibition for Michi-
gan Artists which opened last
week at the Detroit Institute
of Arts.
He was also winner of the
$200 Mr. and Mrs. James S,
Whitcomb award.
Kozlow, who has been work-
ing full-time as a painter for the
past three years, was a com-
mercial artist. His work will be
included in the museum's per-

Laurie Susan Linton became
the 'bride of Adrian Stuart
Williams in a noon ceremony
performed May 12 by Rabbi
Morris Adler at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek.
Parents of the newlyweds are
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Linton of
Santa Maria Ave. and Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Williams of Green-
lawn Ave.
The bride wore an original
design floor-length sheath skirt
with appliques of velvet roses
down to the hem, chapel train,
rounded neckline, empire bodice
and crushed cummerbund. Her
veil was a mantilla of heirloom
Brussel lace.
Rosanne Williams, sister of
the bridegroom, was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Susan
Katzman and Lois Robbins.
Junior bridesmaid was Sheri
Linton. Albert Lopatin was
best man. Merton Rich was
junior usher. Ushers were Fred
Morganroth, Martin - Cohen,
Jerome Greenbaum, Kenneth
Shevin, Bruce Wilson and Jack
Johnson.
A luncheon for 20 guests fol-
lowed the ceremony. The newly-
weds departed for a honeymoon
in Nassau and Miami Beach.
They will reside at Chateaufort
Place in Detroit.

work purchased for the mu-
seum's collections. Dante re-
ceived the $100 Grinnell Gal-
leries award and another $100
as half of the Campbell-Ewald
prize.
The exhibit, which contains
131 paintings, sculptures,
prints, drawings and photo-
graphs selected from more than
1,700 entries, will be on view
through June 30.
