Delegation Finds
Religion Deeply
Rooted in Israel

JERUSALEM, (JTA) — A
delegation, which is touring Is-
rael under the auspices of the
Board of Deputies of British
Jews and the Jewish Agency's
organization department, told a
press conference that extreme
religious elements abroad who
report widespread non-observ-
ance in Israel should be severely
criticized.
Among those participating in
the press conference were Sir
Barnett Janner, member of par-
liament and president of the
Board of Deputies; Alderman
Abraham Moss, senior vice-pres-
ident; Solomon Teff, vice-presi-
dent; Adolph Brotman, secre-
tary; and Harry Landy, treas-
urer.
As representatives of a tra-
ditional community which feels
strongly on matters of religious
observance, the delegation mem-
bers said, they found the allega-
tions of religious non-observance
in Israel untrue. Organizations
represented in the delegation
are Mizrachi Women, WIZO, the
Bnai Brith Women's League,
the Maccabi Association, the
Anglo-Jewish Association, the
Union of Jewish Women and
the Joint Pelestine Appeal.

In 1937 the Jewish Home for
Aged, a member of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, moved to
its present home on Petoskey
Ave.
