Bnai Brith Hillel Programs
At Oberlin and L. A. College
Bnai Brith Hillel Foundations
announced plans for the estab-
lishment of its campus and
cultural programs for Jewish
students at Oberlin College in
Ohio and Los Angeles Valley
College in California.
They will increase the net-
work of Bnai Brith Hillel cen-
ters to 243 colleges, of which
225 are at American and Cana-
dian schools.
The Terrace Theater in Li-
vonia, first indoor theater to be
built in the metropolitan De-
troit area in 16 years, recently
opened to the tune of a happy
musical movie, "The Music
Man."

Terrace Theater which has free
parking with daylight lighting,
will be handled by Suburban
Detroit Theatres, Inc. Supervi-
sion of theater operations will
be under the guidance of Hy
Bloom, of Suburban D e t r o i t
Theatres, Inc. William Tanner,
Jr., a resident of Livonia, has
been appointed manager of the
new Terrace Theater.
Richard Sloan, speaking for
the owners, declared: "Although
there is great difficulty in put-
ting together and operating a
theater, our group has the ut-
most confidence in the con-
tinued success of the motion
picture industry and more par-
ticularly of the new Terrace
Theater."
Doors open daily at 5:15 p.m.
under a continuous showing
policy. On Saturdays, Sundays
and Holidays, doors open at
11:30 a.m. Eugene Sloan, of
Suburban Detroit Theatres, Inc.,
was the principal developer of
the -new Terrace Theater proj-
ect. He conceived an unusual
design for the project and en-
gaged T. Rogvoy, architect with
offices in the Fox Theatre
Building, to produce the plans
for this most modern and excit-
ing building.
Seating in the new Terrace
Theatre consists of 1,200 Griggs
Pushback lounge seats richly
upholstered in mohair. The pro-
jection screen is 58 feet wide
and 27 feet high. The theatre is
equipped with hi-fi stereophonic

media, including Cinemascope,
VistaVision, standard or 70mm
on which some of the biggest
