Sinai's Shapero School of Nursing
Will Graduate .39 Practical Nurses

Dr. Kalman J. Mann, director-
general of the Hadassah Med-
:ical Organization in Israel, will
be guest speaker at Detroit
Chapter's first open meeting of
the season 12:45 p.m. Sept. 11
at Temple Israel.
The event is a highlight of
the current Honor Roll Cam-
paign. Mann is an expert also
on the World Health Organiza-
tion's medical care advisory
panel.
Invited to the meeting are
members of the medical pro-
fession and related fields. con-
tributors, members and friends
of Hadassah, according to Mrs.
Max L. Lichter, Chapter presi-
dent.

The Shapero School of Nurs-
ing of Sinai Hospital will grad-
uate 39 practical nurses at its
10th graduation exercises
Wednesday, Sept. 12, 8 p.m., at
the Jewish Center. Rabbi Morris
Adler will be the commence-
ment speaker.
The school was a gift to the
hospital from the Nate S. and
Ruth B. Shapero Foundation
and the Cunningham Drug Com-
pany Foundation. It was estab-
lished in September; 1956, to
prepare competent men and
women for bedside nursing in
general hospitals, chronic dis-
ease units, doctors' offices, clin-
ics, convalescent homes and pa-
tients' homes.

der in a double-ring ceremony
Aug. 26 at Bnai David Syna-
gogue, performed by Rabbi
Hayim Donin and Cantor Hyman
Adler.
Parents of the newlyweds are
Mr. and Mrs. Morris J. Brand-
wine, 8020 Lincoln, Huntington
Woods, and Mrs. Sonia Grana-
der, 17303 Indiana, and Jacob
Granader, 18700 W. Chicago.
The bride wore her mother's
wedding gown. It was a princess
line gown of antique ivory slip-
per satin, with a Renaissance
lace yoke and Queen Anne col-
lar and bracelet-length sleeves.
Her waist-length illusion veil
was attached to a pill box of
ivory satin illusion and ended
in a chapel train. A white or-
chid with ivy adorned her con-
secration Bible.
Mrs. Jack (Susan) Bindes was
matron of honor. Ilene Brand-
wine was maid of honor. Judith
and Janice Lunsky and Mrs.
Arnold (Joanne) Zuroff were
bridesmaids.
Ronald Granader served his
brother as best man. Ushers
were Warren Brandwine, broth-
er of the bride, Herbert Pont,
Eugene Applebaum and Sidney
Feldman.
Mark Brandwine served his
sister as ring-bearer.
After a honeymoon to New
York and the Catskill Moun-
tains, the newlyweds will re-
side at 15080 Greenfield.
