10 Senators Write Rusk that State Department Must
Give Effect to Anti-Bias Declarations of Congress

WASHINGTON — Ten sena-
tors, including members of both
the Foregin Relations and Ap-
propriations Committees, Tues-
day revealed a joint letter to
Secretary of State Rusk citing
continued Arab discrimination
against American Jews and de-
manding implementation of
anti-bias declarations.
The move by the ten senators
was bi-partisan. It came at a
time when the foreign aid bill
is nearing final consideration.
Noting that they were mem-
bers of either the Foreign Rela-
tions or Appropriations Com-
mittees, the senators wrote
Rusk to "emphasize our con-
viction" that the State Depart-
ment must give effect to the
