Senator Goldwater's Conservatism,
Jewish Background Told in Book

Algerian Jewish Refugee Problem Gains Intensity

tives of six Jewish, Catholic,
and Protestant welfare organiza-

call the attention of the public
authorities to "certain social
and economic problems posed
by the Algerian drama."

olic group; Pastor Arger, of the
Protestant community; an d
Lyon Chief Rabbi Klink. The
conference noted that "social
work must be implemented on
behalf of the Algerian repat-
riates, whose numbers are
growing daily.

geria's remaining 130,000 Jews
are "in dire peril," Shalom
Kalfon, former Jewish Tele-
