be honored at a testimonial
dinner sponsored by the Detroit
Friends of Yeshiva University.
The event will be addressed
by U.S. Supreme Court Jus-
tice William Douglas.
The dinner will be the occa-
sion of a dual celebration —
Goldberg's 60th birthday and
the university's '75th anniver-
sary.
Rabbis trained at the univer-
sity have served as leaders of
Detroit congregations.
Edward C. Levy is general
chairman of the dinner. John
E. Lurie is dinner chairman.
Abraham Borman is chairman
of the Detroit Friends of Yeshi-
va University; Daniel A. Laven
is treasurer, and Nathan I.
Goldin, secretary.
Proceeds of the dinner will
be allocated for the mainte-
nance of the university's aca-
demic, community service and
research activities, including
an annual $1 million program
of scholarship assistance to
gifted students of limited finan-
cial means.
Yeshiva University alumni
who have resided in Detroit in-
clude Dr. Jacob E. Goldman,
Rabbi Hayim Donin, Rabbi Stan-
ley Greenberg, Rabbi Yaakov
Homnick, Rabbi Hyman Agress,
Dr. Morris Adler, Rabbi Samuel
S. Stollman, Windsor, and
others.
Young people from Detroit
are compiling impressive rec-
ords at the schools and divisions
of Yeshiva University.

`State of Israel' Is
Name Given to Public
School in Mexico City
MEXICO CITY, (JTA) — A
public school in this city was
dedicated here officially carry-
ing the name of "Estado de Is-
rael"—State of Israel—while at
Guadalajara, one of the large
provincial centers in this coun-
try, another public school was
dedicated, bearing the name of
Albert Einstein.
At the ceremonies in this
city, officials of the Mexican
Ministry of Eduaction and rep-
resentatives of the Israel Em-
bassy here, joined in stressing
the fact that the new Estado de
Israel School illustrates the
warm relations existing be-
tween the Republic of Mexico
and the State of Israel. The
Estado- de Israel School will
have an enrollment of about
2,000 students, most of them
from middle-class and worker
families. -
At the Guadalajara cere-
monies. President Adolfo Lopez
led the dedication of the Albert
Einstein School, and warmly
thanked the Jewish community
in this country for its contribu-
tion. Construction of the school
had been financed by the Mexi-
can Jewish community.

6,000,000 Perished Jews
ALBANY. N. Y., ( JTA)—A
memorial to the 6,000.000 Jewish
victims of Nazism was dedicated
at the Jewish Community Cen-
ter here. The memorial. execut-
ed by Robert Blood, of Schenec-
tady, was arranged by the Al-
bany Jewish Community Coun-
cil and 31 affiliated Jewish or-
ganizations of this area. The
major addresses at the cere-
monies were delivered by Su-
preme Court Justice Isadore
Bookstein and Haim Bass.

United Nations Special Fund
grant of $489,300 to aid a $2,-
173,000 project for investiga-
tion of problems of under-
ground water storage.
The Fund's Governing Coun-
cil made the allocation here in
open session. after it had been
previously approved at a closed
meeting on the recommenda-
tion of Paul G. Hoffman, man-
aging director.
