Nation's Leaders Acclaim Jubilee of Young Israel

The Men's Club of Temple
Beth El will present an evening
with Tony Martin, movie, radio
and TV star and his singing en-
semble, The True Tones, at a
champagne dinner-dance, Sun-
day, May 27, with the entire
ballroom floor of the Sheraton
Cadillac Hotel being utilized
for the affair. it was announced
by Aubrey T. Ettenheimer,
chairman.
All proceeds from the affair
will go for the benefit of the
Jewish Chautauqua Society and
other chari-
ties sponsored
by the Na-
tional Federa-
tion of Temple
Brotherhoods.
Tony Martin
has donated
his services
for the eve-
ning and in
addition is
personally tak-
ing care of the
expenses for
his ensemble.
He will be Ettenheimer
made an honorary life member
of the Jewish Chautauqua Soci-
ety during his appearance here.
Martin and his True Tones
were obtained by Ettenheimer
and one of his committee mem-
bers. Jules Schubot.
Co-chairmen for the affair
are Adolph and Irving Gold-

A special conference dealing
with the international crisis of
hunger will be held by leaders
of Reform Judaism on Tuesday
at the House of Living Judaism,
838 Fifth Avenue. New York.
Experts from the United Na-
tions, government, and religion-
ists will discuss the current
needs to feed the starving na-
tions at the all-day meeting on
"Freedom From Hunger." At-
tending will be representatives
of 637 member Reform tem-
ples of the Union of American
Hebrew Congregations in the
United States. Canada, Panama,
and the Dutch West Indies,
comprising a membership of
one million.
The gathering will be spon-
osred by the UAHC, the World
Union for Progressive Judaism,
th National Federation of Tem-
ple Sisterhoods, and the Com-
mission on Social Action of Re-
form Judaism.

Reform Judaism Deals
With Hunger Crisis

The New York Board of Rabbis
will celebrate its 80th anniver-
sary with a dinner on May 3, at
the Commodore Hotel, New York,
Rabbi Israel Mowshowitz, presi-
dent of the board announced.
"Eight outstanding Jewish com-
munity leaders will be honored
at this dinner. They are:
Jacob Blaustein, Ambassador
Phillip M. Klutznick, Joseph M.
