Hrs. Brandwine Is Aesculapian Pharmaceutical Assn.
Holds 35th Annual Dinner-Dance
/WF Women's
Collection Chairman

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion's all out effort to convert
Allied Jewish Campaign pledges
into cash payments - is now
averaging $19,000 a day in pay-
ments, report-
ed Leonard N.
Simons; cash
collection
chairm a n.
From Oct. 13
to 20, $152,208
im payments
of campaign
pledges were
received by
the Federa-
tion. This
brings the to-
tal . collected
since the mil-
lion dollar
drive began,
O c t. 1, to
$330,106.
Mrs. Brandwine Simons an-
nounced that Mrs. Morris J.
Brandwine has been named
chairman of Women's Division
cash collections. Mrs. Brand-
wine is a vice president of the
Women's Division and is chair-
man of its Allied Jewish Cam-
paign Keynoters Division.
"I know the Women's Divi-
sion will play the same vital
role in our cash campaign it
plays in the Allied Jewish
Campaign," Simons said.
In 1960, collections from
Oct. 1 through Dec. 10 totaled
$80,000. Simons, his co-chair-
man, Jason Honigman, and the
collections committee have set
a minimum goal of $1,000,000.
This will excelerate the normal
*pattern of payment of pledges
by $200,000. That money will
be immediately available to
help . the United Jewish Appeal
in its programs of care for
Jews in need overseas.
Simons again urged all
Allied Jewish Campaign contri-
butors who are in the habit of
making current year payments
before Jan. 1 to make those
payments by Dec. 1 at the
latest. "We must average
$15,000 a day if we are to
achieve our million dollar mini-
mum goal by Dec. 10," Simons
said. "We can only continue to
maintain that goal if all con-
tributors regard this drive as a
personal obligation to immedi-
ately pay their campaign pledge
in full, or if that is not possible
to make the largest possible
payment immediately."
