Mrs. Judy (Laikin) Elkin will
speak on "Around the World in
30 Minutes"
as an intro-
duction to the
series of semi-
nars. Former-
ly regional di-
rector of the
American Jew-
ish Congress.
Mrs. Elkin will
draw on her
experience as
a United States
Foreign Serv-
ice Officer to
explain some
of the forces
which are be-
hind today's Mrs. Elkin
political events.
Proposed topics for discus-
sion include
"Germany—why shouldn't it
it stay partitioned?" "Jews of
South Africa—Betwixt and Be-
tween," "North African Jewry
Under Pressure;" "C h i n e s e
Musical Chairs at the UN;"
"Black Nationalism in Africa,
and in the United States;"
"What's going on in Vietnam?"
"Arab unity and Israel."
Mrs. Katz will serve a petite
buffet and all members are in-
vited, regardless of the chapter
to which they belong. Guests
are also welcome.
At a membership tea to be
held Nov. 8 at the home of
Mrs. Sidney Katzman, 8911 Lin-
coln, Huntington Woods, mem-
bers of American Jewish Con-
gress Detroit Women's Division,
who have toured Israel, will be
honored. Through a panel pres-
entation, a report of the "Amer-
ican in Europe" will be given
by members who attended the
latest tour.
Also to be honored will be
the newly-joined members.
A resume of last year's ac-
complishments of American
Jewish Congress, both on the
national and local scenes, will
be given by Executive-Director
Dr. Shlomo Tadmor.
Hosiptality Committee chair-
man Mrs. M. Plavnick and Mrs.
Jack Greenbaum will have
Chapter Presidents Mrs. Sol
Redstone, Mrs. Jack Miller and
Mrs. H. Kermann as hostesses.
Mrs. Joseph Greenberg and
Mrs. Arnold Kass are co-chair-
men of the tea.
Mrs. Dan Shapiro, president
of the. Women's Division, an-
nounces that a Division board
meeting will be held 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday at the home of Mrs.

lights of the recent leadership

vidual patient's need.

Lapeer Parents Association "For-
gotten Children's Committee" and
in charge of this drive. Indi-
viduals or groups who wish to
support this program on behalf
of the patients at Lapeer may
do so by sending contributions to
Mrs. Brown or by securing from
her any desired number of the
check lists on individual patients,
referred to above. Mrs. Brown
