The Sower of
Seeds of Life
A Tribute to
Louis J. Rosenberg
on His 85th Birthday
By HARRY MAXMAN
If all our days were frolic
And we had no cares nor gloom,
If life were one long bucolic
And all our joys came soon.
For nothing could our heart's
famish,
No heart to another need offer
balm.
Without sorrow, compassion
would vanish,
Not even Hitler could do us
such harm.
This I have learned, albeit oft I
forget,
Is the heart's wisdom, inde-
pendent of words . .
The deed of a life never
hardbound, or set .. .
Unshaken as the heart of
Louis James Rosenberg.
—Harry Maxman
