President Eisenhower told his
press conference he was firmly
opposed to injection of religious
issues in election campaigns.
Eisenhower said:

In a Rosh Hashanah message,
Israel's Prime Minister David
Ben-Gurion called upon Ameri-
can Jews to maintain the vigor
of their support of humanitar-
ian work overseas through the
United Jewish Appeal, and
