Mrs. Joseph Isaacs, who is moving to California with her
family, was honored and presented a gift by members of her
club, the Rochel Laya Stepiner Aid Society, at a recent meeting
at the home of Mrs. Norman Goldenberg of Elgin Ave., Oak Park.
A sweet 16 dinner party was tendered Monday by Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Stone, of Vassar Dr., in honor of their daughter
Fern. Nineteen couples helped celebrate her birthday.
Mr. Hyman Wasser of Kentucky Ave. was feted in honor
of his 65th birthday Saturday. Guests of the hostess, Mrs. Wasser,
were their children Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wasser, grandchildren
Susan, Paul and Sammy, _relatives and friends. Here from out
of town were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Goltz, the Wally Franks and
Joe Franks, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mrs. Bertha Fishow of Ann
Arbor; and Mrs. Ida Gray of Scarsdale, N. Y.
To extend their felicitations to Miss Iris Halberstam, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Halberstam, of 20516 Rosemont, on her
birthday, a "Sweet Sixteen" party was attended by many of her
friends and reltaives on July 30.
Mr. and Mrs. IL Jld Kaplan, 13673 Wales, are on a two-
week vacation in the Catskill Mountains.
Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Waxman motored to Miami Beach, Fla.,
for a two-week vacation at the Carillon Hotel. They plan to
visit their son, Raymond, this fall at Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Balbot of Pittsburgh visited their niece
and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Abner Baker, 21910 Kipling, Oak
Park, after which they all motored to Akron, Ohio, to spend a
week with Dr. and Mrs. Milton Cooper.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Karpf of Woodingham Dr. are spending
their vacation in Charlevoix.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Iden, of 10005 Elgin, Huntington Woods,
and their children, Linda, Lauren, Elaine and Bruce, have re-
turned from a brief vacation to Niagara Falls.
