EX-DETROITERS Sid and
Pauline Stoller and 18-year-old
daughter Beth, left Los Angeles
for a tour of the country, wind-
ing up in the Motor City . . .
Sid has been Sam Dictor's right
hand man at both Camp Kiowa
and Kiowa Lodge for women at
Lake Elsinore . . . and with
the camp's 14th season already
started, Sid, who is now in
charge of lodge operation of the
gals, decided to. see what the
hometown looks like after all
these years . . . Their first
stop was Dallas to visit Sid's
brother, Lou, who is remem-
bered by so many girls in De-
troit who bought their hats from
him . . . Then on to New York
to visit brother, Morris, who
will be there on .a buying trip
for his own business in Cleve-
land, after 20 years as an execu-
tive with Federal Dept. Store
.. . Last stop will be Detroit,
where Sid's sister and brother-
in-law, Ruth and Bob Ostrow,
along with brother Lou, have a
cocktail party arranged for
them.
TEL AVIV, (JTA)—The first
jet plane ever assembled in
Israel — a French Fouga
Magister jet trainer — was de-
livered to the Israel Air Force
today by Israel Air Industry,
Ltd. formerly the Bedek com-
pany.
The plane was assembled with
components shipped from
France. Eleven more trainers
will be assembled here on this
basis.
Later, Al Shwimmer, head of
the aviation company, said all
parts will be manufactured
locally except for the engines
which will continue to be im-
ported from France.
The use of jet trainers will
shorten considerably the time
needed to train pilots for the
Israel Air Force. In the past,
pilots have had to spend long
hours in conventional piston-
engined aircraft until they could
be put into the powerful Mys-
tere and Vauture jets.
The first of the planes as-
sembled here was formally
presented to Prime Minister
Ben-Gurion who is the Minister
of Defense. He, in turn, pre-
sented it to Brigadier General
Ezer Weizmann, commander of
the Air Force.
Deputy Defense Minister Shi-
mon Peres said that five mil-
lion pounds ($2,800,000) had
been allocated for investment
in the aircraft industry over the
next three years above the 18,-
000,000 pounds ($10,000,000) al-
ready invested. He indicated
that Israel's aviation industry
may produce civilian jet planes
for export.

This is the season when the
issue about a Jewish vote in-
variably comes up . . . Politi-
cians in the smoke-filled rooms
make no bones about it . .
When no reporters are around
they will admit with the utmost
candor that there is such a
thing as a Jewish, Catholic,
Negro vote and that such votes
are very seriously assessed in
election campaigns . . But
what about nominations of pres-
idential candidates? • . .
We have been wondering
about Stevenson, Symington,
Kennedy and Johnson . . . How
do Zionists and Israelis feel
about these men in regard to
the future Middle East policy?
We_ made our own poll and
discovered that Stevenson is far
from popular with the Israelis.
