Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bachrach,
former Detroiters now residing
in Los Angeles, Calif., have an-
nounced the engagement of
their daughter, Lorraine, to
Arthur Goldstone, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Al Goldstone, of
Detroit.
The bride-elect attended the
University of California at Los
Angeles, and her fiance is now
attending Los Angeles City Col-
lege. He will enter the Los An-
geles College of Optometry in
the fall.
A June 26 wedding is
planned.
Totem Pole Camp
to Open Season
Camp facilities ih the privacy
and safety of its own grounds
is considered one of the lead-
ing attractions of Totem Pole
Day Camp, a state - licensed
camp open to boys and girls,
3 to 12-years-old.
Marvin Liberman, a public
school teacher with a master's
degree in school administration
and supervision, is director of
the camp, which is located at
Wixom, just 17 miles from
Detroit.
Totem Pole Day Camp offers
weekday camping from 8:30
a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and an added
feature is overnight and week-
end camping. Thursday at the
camp is cookout day, when
youngsters, together with their
counsellors cook lunch over an
open fire.
Other facilities of the camp
include daily swimming, craft
activities, nature hikes, all
sports, archer y, air rifles,
movies, story hours and trips
to places of interest.
Totem Pole begins its season
on June 27, and continues for
nine weeks. Enrollments are
accepted for one week or the
entire nine-week period. For

A new ruling banning dis-
crimination in all on-campus
student organizations has been
voted by the student govern-
ment council at the University
of Michigan.
A committee of four students
will work with three university
officials in the investigation of
any violations of the new rul-
ing, which broadens a 1949 ban
on discrimination on grounds of
race or religion in any orga-
nization formed on campus after
that year.
