Music Parley

Cynthia Raim, an eight-year-
old piano pupil of Mischa Kott-
ler, will be a major soloist dur-
ing the annual convention of
the Michigan Federation of
Women's Clubs this week.
Cynthia will appear in a re-
cital during the convention's
Junior Day, on Saturday, under
the auspices of the Music Study
Club of Detroit, one of the par-
ticipating groups in the con-
ference. The parley be g a n

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Raim, of 19937 Asbury
Park, Cynthia will present a
two-part invention by Bach, a
Beethoven rondo and three
pieces by Kabelevski.
The youngest member of the
Music Study Club's Junior
Group, the talented eight-year-
old will be the youngest partici-
pant in the convention recital.
Cynthia began playing the
piano by ear when she was
only 21/2-years-old and started
her formal studies at 51/2. Her
talent was so obivious that she
was given a scholarship by the
Music Study Group.
An eager pupil, she automati-
cally memorizes her lessons,
has perfect pitch and has com-

years-old. One of her tunes has
been played on television, and
Cynthia herself has been on
TV on several occasions.
