When the Oranim Zabar
Troupe, the much heralded
group of Israeli folk singers, ap-
pears here May 5, in the Scottish
Rite Cathedral of Masonic Tem-
ple, they will be giving their
first Detroit performance.
Originally scheduled for May
1, the date of the community-
wide celebration of Israel's 12th
anniversary, the concert was de-
layed to avoid a conflict and al-
low Detroiters to enjoy both
programs.

man Ave., Huntington Woods,
and Edward. Dworkin, son of
Mr. and MrS. Sam Dworkin of
Detroit. - -
The ring used in the after-
noon ceremony at the Whittier
Hotel belonged to the bride's
grandmother, and also Was
worn by her mother and two
sisters-in-law. The Bible which
she carried, adorned with white
orchids, lilies of the valley and
rosebuds, was her mother's con-
firmation Lible. "
Dr. Richard C. Hertz, of Tem-
ple Beth El, officiated at the
single-ring ceremony.
The bride chose a full-length
gown of white peau de soie with
Chantilly lace trim, a square
neckline - and long, tapered
sleeves, which ended in wrist
pointa. The fitted_ bodice _ex-
tended into a bouffant skirt
and ended in a chapel train.
A tiara, of seed pearls secured
her illusion veil, and a strand
of heii•loom pearls- c _ ompleted
her , accessories.
Mrs. Arthur Goodman, of
Grand Rapids, the bride's sis-
ter-in-law, was her matron of
honor, and Iris Goodman, her
niece, was junior , bridesmaid.
Another niece, Judy Goodman,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin
Goodman, was flower girl.
Joseph Dworkin was best
man, and seating the guests
were Arthur and Irwin Good-
man.
A reception in honor of the
couple followed in the hotel's
Pickwick Room, after which
the newlyweds left for a Miami
Beach honeymoon.
Out-of-town guests here for
the ceremony were from Buf-
falo, N.Y., St. Louis, South
Bend, Ind., and Grand Rapids.

Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Cohen, of
23630 Church, Oak Park, an-
nounce the engagement of their
sister, Janice Cohen, to Wil-
liam Frankel, of New York. The
marriage will •be solemnized
May 29 'in New York.

Volunteers Requested

Volunteers to work on a Red
Cross bloodmobile unit one day
per week are requested by Mrs.
Stanley Yates, volunteer chair-
man. Training for their assign-
-, ment will be given at the De-
troit Red Cross headquarters,

ranged to meet their conven-

SUKIYAKI

6 scallions, cut. up
2 pounds shoulder steak,
2 cups canned bean
sliced thin
sprouts, drained
2 ounces beef suet, cut up
2 onions, sliced thin
1/2 cup beef bouillon
• cup chopped celery
1 /4 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups canned mushrooms,
freshly ground black
sliced and drained
pepper
1 pound spinach, cut in
boiled rice
1-inch • strips
Heat large iron skillet. Rub inside of skillet with suet, then
fry suet for .5 minutes or until skillet is well greased. Remaining
bits of suet may be removed and discarded. Saute onions for 5
minutes. Add celery, - mushrooms, spinach, scallioris and bean
sprouts and cook over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Push vegetables to one side of pan, add steak and fry for 3
minutes. Stir steak and vegetables together. Add bouillon, soy
sauce, sugar and ,pepper and cook for 5 minutes, stirring fre-
quently. Serve with rice. Serves 6.

Rabbi M. Robert Syme, assoc-
iate rabbi of Temple Israel, will
be one of three religious speak-
ers at a program planned by
Crescent Shrine Club on Mon-
day evening.
Rabbi Syme will speak on
"What Are We to Expect from
Our Youth in the Future?" He
will appear with Rev. Donald
E. Bodley, of the Episcopal Dio-
cese of Michigan; and Fr. Ron-
ald L. Heidelberger, of the
Catholic Archdiocese.
