Rabbinical Assembly
Is Conservative Body

The Rabbinical Assembly of
America is the organization of
Conservative rabbis, nearly all
of them graduates of the Jewish
Theological Seminary of Amer-
ica.
The Jewish News did not in-
dicate it when it published, in
its issue of April 1, the state-
ment of a committee from the
Rabbinical Assembly condoning
traveling on the Sabbath for re-
ligious services. only.

Services for the concluding
days of Passover will be held
Sunday evening, Monday and
Tuesday in the community's Or-
thodox and Conservative con-
gregations. Reform temples will
hold Passover family services
this Sabbath, while concluding
services for the festival are
planned on Monday morning.
The following is a schedule
of Passover services and special
events that are scheduled to
conclude the eight-day festival:

a.m., Tuesday.
Adas Shalom Synagogue
Concluding services will take
place at 6 p.m., Sunday and
Monday, and at 8:30 a.m. Mon-
day and Tuesday. Rabbi Jacob
E. Segal will preach the Yizkor
sermon at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday,
followed by the memorial serv-
ice. The prayers will be chanted
by Cantor Nicholas Fenakel,
assisted by the synagogue choir,
conducted by Shimon Gewirtz.
Cong. Beth Shalom
PassoVer concluding services
will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sun-
day and Monday, at 7 p.m.,
Tuesday, and at 9 a.m., Monday
and Tuesday.
Rabbi Mordecai S. Halpern
will deliver the sermons on
"Needed — A New Song," on
Monday, and "Can We Dare
Forget," on Tuesday. Yizkor
services Tuesday will begin at
10:30 a.m.
Temple Israel
The High School Youth will
lead the congregation in wor-
ship at Passover Sabbath Eve
Services planned for 8:30 p.m.,
today. Joel Brown, Youth Group
president, will deliver the ser
mon, and Susan Victor will
light the sabbath candles.
Participating in a speaking
choir that will narrate the
Passover story are Adria
Brown, Ronald Bennett, Mich-
ael Gutterman, Bernard Kirz-
ner, Marjorie Lappin, David
McLeod, Robert Rosen, Bar-
bara Skully, Nancy Stein and
Diane Yura.
Members who will read the
sabbath ritual and conduct the
Torah service are William
Cohen, Michael Goodman, Lance
Mermell, Charles Mintz, Robert
Rycus, Janice Scherock, Nancy
Victor and Susan Victor.
Beth Aaron Synagogue
Services for the concluding
days are planned for 6:30 p.m.,
Sunday and Monday, and at
8:30 a.m., Monday and Tuesday.
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick
and Cantor Ihil Gildin will
officiate. • Yizkor services will
be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday.
During the intermediate sab-
bath of Passover, at 8:45 a.m.,

director of adult education for
the national Bnai Brith, will oc-
