The electric stove is making
its way into many homes. Elec-
tricity is no longer rationed.
Water is more plentiful. You
no longer see lines of people

waiting at the food counters.
The new markets offer you
everything that your purse can
buy. Fruits and vegetables are
so very tasty, since one eats
from garden to table.

of coffee.
The waiters
are pleasant,
and the serv-
ice is west-
ern.
One of the
foods I espe-
cially enjoyed Mrs. Slomovitz
was summer squash, marrow
and tomatoes, stewed together.
The combination is good.
Egg plant, too, is still "going
strong." A small egg plant,
baked and then scooped back
into the shell with a slice of
broiled tomato on top, is de-
licious. It's strictly kosher, and
is served in the American style.
To enjoy a pleasant weekend,
the Dolphin House is most ele-
gant and restful. Their foods
are well prepared, and there is
entertainment, miniature golf, a
pool—as clear as . crystal—and
an evening of music and enter-
tainment.
So, all in all, "Israel lives,"
and the gourmet-traveler can
eat, drink and be merry.

Ceresnie Sale .a
Real Cool 'Steal'

"Don't steal 'em; the prices
are low enough!" Ceresnie
Brothers are pleading as they
open their annual August Fur
Sale.
They allude to "the great fur
robber y" which practically
cleaned out their store at 19386
Livernois a few months ago.
"Are these all new furs you
are showing?" someone asked.
"They have to be," they an-
swered. "The old ones are on
the hot-fur market; the thieves-
took everything . . . including
the coat hangers!"
On a serious note, Ceresnie
Brothers pointed out that they
are featuring the latest crea-
tions in mink, Alaska seal,
beaver, Persian lamb, broadtail
and otter. Everyone is welcome
. . . but please, don't make any
fast moves; the boys are
nervous.

A typical breakfast at the Dan
Hotel in Tel Aviv consists of:
Orange or grapefruit juice;
Herring, pickled or plain;
Grated carrots, made with
lemon juice, sugar and salt;
Sliced cucumbers;
Tomatoes;
Eggs;
