MRS. MATHEW BOROVOY
In a ceremony March 7, at
Holiday Manor, Joyce Frances
Weisman and Dr. Mathew Boro-
voy were united in marriage by
Rabbi Morris Adler and Cantor
Hyman J. Adler.
The bride, daughter, of Mr.
and Mrs. Irving Weisman, of
Tyler Ave., chose a gown of
white Chantilly lace featuring a
square neckline appliqued with
pearls and sequins and fash-
ioned with short sleeves, a
fitted bodice and a dome-
shaped skirt which fell into a
court train.
Her double-tier veil of illu-
sion fell to her fingertips from
a shell cap of peau de soie and
Chantilly lace which matched
her gown. She carried white
orchids on her Bible.
Rosalind Kahidon was the
bride's.. maid.. of _ honor, _.and
bridesmaids were Mrs. Robert
Rosenberg, Mrs. Leonard Mitz,
Mrs. Myer Bloom, of Harris-
burg, Pa., and Mrs. Harry ROs-
enberg, of Toronto. Flower girls
were Kim Barri Weisman and
Sybil Sterne.
The bridegroom, son of Mrs.
Rose Borovoy, of Penrod Ave.,
was attended by Dr. Herbert
Bicoll as best man, while ushers
included Dr. Marvin Weisman,
brother of the bride, Dr. Myron
Bakst, Dr. Sidney Easterman,
of Paterson, N. J., and Dr.
Harry Rosenberg, of Toronto.
Eric Stone was the ring bearer.
Following dinner and a re-
ception, the couple left for a
honeymoon at the Concord
Hotel in New York. They will
reside on Cheyenne Ave. on
their return. Out-of-town guests
here for the wedding were from
New Jersey, Missouri, Pennsyl-
vania and Toronto.
Writer to Speak
on Soviet Jewry
Mendl Mann, a Jewish writer
who has gained wide acclaim
among Yiddish literary critics,
will discuss "The Plight of the
Russian-Jewish Population" at
8:30 p.m., April 10, at the Work-
men's Circle Center, 18340 W.
7 Mile.
The author
of several
books pertain-
ing to Jewish
life in World
War II, Mann
himself was a
victim of the
Nazi occupa-
tion in Poland,
during which
time he
escaped to the
Mann
Soviet Union.
He served in a Soviet labor
camp until his release. It was
during the years of his work
in Russia that he observed the
lives of Russian Jewry. He has
written many stories on the
subject.
Now an Israeli, Mann is sec-
retary of the Yiddish journal,
Di Goldene Keyt. Tickets for

FILET OPALESCENCE
2 pounds Kosher Filet
sliced 1 inch thick
1 //a cup dry sherry
1 teaspoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Vs teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons peanut oil
1 /2 cup thinly sliced asparagus
1 /2
cup snow peas, cut in
slices
cup thinly sliced
mushrooms
1/2 cup finely chopped
chives
1 cup chicken bouillon
chow mein noodles
1 /2
1 /2-inch
Cut meat into 2 - inch strips and slice strips across grain about
'/a - inch thick. Combine sherry, soy sauce, cornstarch and ginger.
Marinate meat in this mixture for 1 hour. Fry in oil in large
skillet over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring contsantly. Remove
meat and keep hot. Add vegetables and bouillon to liquid re-
maining in skillet and cook over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring
constantly. Add meat to vegetable mixture and cook for 5
minutes, stirring contsantly. Serve the filet
chow mein noodles. Serves 6.
