Consecration Service,
Purim Presentation
The 10th annual Hakadasha,
or consecration, service of the
Adas Shalom Synagogue will
be held at sabbath morning
services on March 21, when 53
young pupils will be dedicated
to study.
A day later, members of the
older grades of the congrega-
tion's religious school will par-
ticipate in a Purim program,
in the main sanctuary.
At the consecration cere-
monies, Rabbi Jacob E. Segal
will officiate, and Cantor Nicho-
las Fenakel, together with the
synagogue choir, will chant spe-
cial liturgical selections. Greet-
ings will be extended by George
Spoon, Adas Shalom president.
Helping to plan the services
is the parents committee, com-
posed of Mesdames Saul Dorf-
man, chairman; P. M. Sherman,
treasurer; Morrey Barak, kid-
dush chairman; and Willard
Posen, secretary.
The Purim presentation will
feature a musical comedy, "Ha-
mantosh Mikado," which is di-
rected by Elaine Desow, Linda
Pearlman and Sydelle Becker.
Following the play, all the chil-
dren will participate in masque-
rade, and haniantashen will be
given to each pupil. Class
parties also be held that
