Teachers to Meet Hebrew Schools and Bnai Moshe
for Conference
Renew Partnership Agreement
at Temple Israel

Temple Israel will be host to
the annual Religious School
Teachers' Conference at 1:15
p.m., Sunday. The gathering is
under the sponsorship of the
Directors' Council of the Jewish
Religious Schools of Metropoli-
tan Detroit.
The theme of the conference
is "An Approach to Judaism:
•Reform, Conservative and Or-
thodox Points of View." A sem-
inar on the subject will feature
the participation of Dr. Leon
Fram, of the host, congregation;
Rabbi Moses Lehrman, of Cong.
Bnai Moshe; and Rabbi Hayim
Donin, of Cong. Bnai David.
The panel will take place
after a luncheon program and
will be followed by a question
and answer period. Leonard Ser-
vetter, conference chairman,
will introduce the speakers.
Included in the program will
be greetings from Walter Far-
ber, chairman of the Directors'
Council; the invocation by Rabbi
Hyman Agress; community sing-
ing led by Shimon Gewirtz; and
the birkat hamazon by Frank
Leiderman.
Leiderman also is program co-
ordinator of the conference,
while Harold Karbal is co-chair-
man with Servetter.
Members of the participating
schools in the Directors' Coun-
cil are Allen Warsen, Adas Sha-
lom; Rabbi Joseph Hirsch, Aha-
vas Achim; Bernard Panush,
Beth. Aaron; Rabbi Max Kapus-
tin, Beth Abraham; Leonard

The United Hebrew Schools and Bnai Moshe Synagogue re-
newed their agreement for a joint Hebrew school-synagogue part-
nership in the new Bnai Moshe Synagogue building now under
construction in Oak Park. The United Hebrew Schools will occupy
the new ten-room school building which is expected to be ready
in September, 1959. Eight years ago the Hebrew Schools and
Mai Moshe entered into the first partnership agreement, which
is now being continued for another ten years in the new location.
The facilities of the school will be open to members of the Bnai
Moshe Synagogue as well as to the general community.

Rabbi I. M. Davidson, spiri-
tual leader of the three orthodox
synagogues in Wilkes-Barre, W.
Va., was a guest at sabbath serv-
ices of Cong. Shomrey Emunah
last weekend.
The rabbi, here to visit his
children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Siegel, of Hartwell Ave., deliv-
ered the sermon at Saturday's
services.
Before leaving, Rabbi David-
son announced that in memory
of his late wife, Rachel, he was
donating the ark for the new
synagogue on Schaefer and Clan-
_ita.

semester's study at the end of
this month, re-opening for the
second term on Feb. 2, accord-
ing to Movsas Goldoftas, direc-
tor.
Openings in several depart-
ments will be accepted, includ-
ing nursery school for children
31/2 to 5; pre-school students
of 5 to 6; and grade school stu-
dents from 7 to 12. For the
latter, an interview must be ar-
ranged with Goldoftas.

Before closing out the term,
