Schedules Hanukah Party
Branch 11, Labor Zionist Or-
ganization of America, will hold
its annual children's Hanukah
workshop at 3 p.m., Saturday,
in the home of the Bob Kan-
nons, 20179 Mark Twain. Moth-
ers will assist the youngsters
in making decorations, games
and menorahs for the holiday,
and a supper will be served.

Here Tuesday for Fashion Show

Highlighting the festivities of
the winter season will be the
"Moonlight Sleighride," Mum-
ford's annual winter semi-for-
mal dance, which will be held
at 8 p.m., today,, at the Ford
auditorium.
The dance is sponsored by
the Student Council with finan-
cial aid from the Parents Club.
Music will be provided by Marty
Schwartz and the Counts. Tick-
ets are still available at the
ticket office.

The first Detroit visit of na-
tionally-prominent designer and
couturier, Charles Rudolf, of
New York, will highlight a fash-
ion show being presented by
the Detroit Chapter of Hadassah
to mark the close of its annual
Honor Roll campaign.
The event, to be held at 12:30
p.m., Tuesday, in the Scottish
Rite Cathedral of Masonic Tem-
ple, will serve as Rudolf's in-
troduction in the field of after-
noon apparel.
According to Mesdames Mil-
ton Mahler and Harry C. Singer,
chairmen of the fashion show,
which is being coordinated by
Cardinal, Rudolf's reputation ex-
tends mostly to the fields of
glamorous cocktail and evening
wear, which he designed espe-
cially for the Detroit showing.
Rudolf was born into the
world of fashion, the noted
House of Rudolf having been
established 40 years ago by his
1 parents, Max and Clara Rudolf,
Mumfordites possessing supe-
rior writing ability will have
an opportunity to win gold
achievement keys, dictionaries,
and certificates of merit in the
Southeast Michigan Scholastic
Writing Contest.
Students in grades 10 through
12 may submit entries under
the senior division, while en-
tries in grades 6 through 9 are
accepted for the junior division.
Among the contest divisions
are short stories, essays, origi-
nal poetry, television and radio
scripts, general articles, critical
book reviews and journalistic
articles.
For further information re-
garding the contest, students
should contact their English
teachers. Entries for the re-
gional contest must be submit-
ted by Jan. 23.

Mumfordites were formally
introduced to this year's Ameri-
can Field Service exchange stu-
dent, Mary Lewin, of Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil, at an assembly
held recently in the auditorium.
Mumfordite Tom Segall de-
scribed his summer in Norway
to the students. Mrs. Saul Shief-
man, Mary's adopted m o t h e r
during her American stay, was
presented by Jay Shumaker,
master of ceremonies.
Co-chairmen of the Student
Council's organization commit-
tee, Suzanne Cole and Bernie
Friedman, are currently plan-
ning a fund raising project- to
finance next year's AFS student.
Final preparations are being
completed for this year's Snow
Trip to Echo Valley, Michigan.
12B's and 12A's taking the trip
will meet at Mumford at 5:30
a.m., Jan. 3. They will return
the following evening.

pleted and turned in to the
Student Council office today.
Primary elections for grades
9A through 12B will be held
Dec. 12.
Candidates for offices will pre-
sent their qualifications before
the student body at a rally Dec.
16, in the auditorium. Candi-
dates are Suzanne Cole and
Sue Rice, president; Marilyn
Mendelson and David Drachler,
vice-president; Beth Rosenthal
and Marie Scruggs, recording
secretary; Nanci Shere and Judy
Katz, corresponding secretary;

scenes which will carry out
the theme of the fashion show.
