Actor's Guild Has
Success with Miller's
Play, 'All My Sons
Arthur Miller's moving drama
"All My Sons," the story of
two partners involved with
government contracts whose
production of faulty motors
caused death to 21 flyers dur-
ing the war, is not easy fare
for a non-professional group.
Yet, the play. was performed
creditably last Tuesday and
Wednesday evenings by the
Actors Guild of Temple Israel
in its first production since be-
coming affiliated with the
temple.
While several players shared
in the success of the venture,
laurels go to Beth-Sheva Laikin,
who, as Kate Keller, the wife
of one of the partners, gave a
thoroughly stirring perform-
ance.
Credit also goes to Peter
Stoner, as Joe Keller; Barron
Fredrick Deneau as his son,
Chris; and Lorraine Ernst, as
Chris' fiance. In the double role
of Dr. Jim Bayliss and as direc-
tor of the production, N. Paul
Silverman also drew the ap-
plause of the audience.
Others in the cast were Dan
Smith, Joyce •Feurring, Don
Shapiro, Lillian Levy 'and 11-
year-old Jim Roby.
Several of the performers
have been seen and heard in
local theater work and on radio
and television. Miss Laikin, who
in private life is Mrs. Harold
Davidson, has had a particu-
larly extensive background in
the theater.
The past experience of the
performers, as well as the suc-
cess gained in this first ven-
ture, should encourage the
group to continue its efforts
and even extend them to the
vast repertory of solid Jewish
plays that are available for
production.
