Prior to their departure for a two-month trip to Israel,
London, Paris and Rome, Mr. and Mrs. I. Samet, of 20500
Greenview, were honored by their family at a farewell Thanks-
giving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Samuels, of
17375 Wildemere. The Samets will leave on Dec. 5.
Emma Schaver, soprano, again will he the guest artist at
two important affairs in New York City. This Friday, she will
be the soloist at an Oneg Shabbat which will have as its guest
the former Prime Minister of Israel, Moshe Sharett. The fol-
lowing night, she will be the guest artist at the 35th jubilee
celebration of Histadrut, in Town Hall.
Mr. Daniel L. Tickton is in Great Neck, N.Y., to spend
Thanksgiving Week with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Sidney G. Tickton.
A Founder's Day Tea, celebrating the 45th anniversary of
Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, served to unite the newly-formed Eta
Chapter at the University of Michigan and Beta Lambda Chapter
at Wayne State University. The tea was held in the Ann Arbor
chapter's sorority house. Eight members of the WSU pledge
class, Lane Schwartz, Lois Rosner, Gail German, Sondra Levitt,
Reva Bratt, Gail Kott, Rissa Haas and Carolyn Kushnir, enter-
tained with an original song.
Mrs. J. Walter Jonas (Carole Cooperman, of Detroit), of
Floral Park, Long Island, N.Y., returned recently aboard the
SS United States from a two-month tour of Europe, during
which she visited Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, AuStria,
France and England. After a brief stay in New York, she flew
here to visit for two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David
H. Cooperman, of 20020 St . Marys, and her sister.
A surprise party honoring the 30th birthday of Mr. Joseph
Sulkes was given by his wife in their home on Cherrylawn Ave.
At the same time, Mr. Sulkes' brother, Emanuel, celebrated his
40th birthday. Relatives and close friends attended.

50th Anniversary Events
