More Facts on Yiddish Directory

Following publication of a
page from the unique Yiddish
Directory of Detroit. Jewry, as
uncovered by Irving I. Katz at
the library of the Hebrew Union
College in Cincinnati, several
other facts have come to the
attention of The Jewish News.
The Jacob Levin referred to
in the original story as being in
the book supplies and religious
articles business was not the
same Jacob Levin who was a
tailor, as the story suggested.
Mrs. Clarence Jacobs, a grand-
daughter of Jacob Levin, in writ-
ing to Katz, recalls that her
grandfather "was a very learned
man" who at one time was
president of Cong. Beth Jacob.
