Plan Fashion Show
to Highlight Donor
of JWV Auxiliary

A fashion show will highlight
the donor luncheon currently
being planned by the Depart-
ment of Michigan Auxiliary of
the Jewish War Veterans, an-
nounces Mrs. Oscar Katz, de-
partment president.
The program, to be held Nov.
13, at Masonic Temple, will be
under the chairmanship of Mrs.
John Nemon, Department senior
vice-president.
Casuals and formal wear by
Nat Greene will feature the
fashion show, and there will be
songs by Wynn Garden Landis,
music by Mrs. Isadore Chaiken
and a popular local television
personality will emcee an
awards program at which 150
gifts will be distributed.
All 14 local auxiliaries and
several of the out-state groups
will participate in the donor
event, which raises funds for
the continuance of the JWVA
hospital program, community
service, child welfare, aid to
Israel and veterans services.
According to Mrs. Morton Op-
penheim, past department presi-
dent who is coordinator for the
affair, tables are being reserved
on a first-come, first-serve

Mitzvah Day to Activate
Temple Israel Youth

Temple Israel Youth Group
will hold its second annual
Mitzvah Day, from 1 to 5 p.m.,
Sunday, when teen-age mem-
bers of the congregation will
perform a variety of odd jobs
to earn funds for Youth Group
projects.
Members will be found clean-
ing basements and attics, wash-
ing windows, raking lawns or
doing other chores that need
attention before the winter
season sets in.
