Israel is in increasing danger,
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president
of the World Zionist • Organiza-
tion declared here in an ad-
dress to 1,000 delegates attend-
ing a national conference of the
United Israel Appeal.
Summing up the situation in
which Israel finds itself, the
head of the Zionist movement
noted that the chief danger to
Israel lay in the cold war and
in the fact that the Arab states
were in a position from which
they might blackmail the major

in Soviet Encyclopedia
MOSCOW, (WNS) — The
newest Soviet Encyclopedia lists
three Jewish writers whose
names hitherto have been an-
athema. They are David Bergel-
son, Peretz Markish and L. Kvit-
ko.
Their inclusion in the newest
edition of the encyclopedia
means that they have been re-
habilitated. Another Jewish fig-
ure named in the encyclopedia
is that of Gen. Gamarnik, broth-
er in law of the late Hebrew
poet N. Bialik.

New Synagogue, Center, Opened in Germany
The Lovett School of the
Dance announces the fall open-
ing of classes in dance instruc-
tions. Dance Master Samuel
Bela Lovett, head of the school,
has • scheduled classes which
began Sept. 10, at the school,
located at 18079 Wyoming, near
Curtis. There will be classes
in ballet, toe, tap, character
and ballroom dancing.
Samuel Lovett is well known
for his experience, skill and
success in .dance teaching. His
career in the field of dancing
has been long and varied. He
is the president of the Dance
Masters Organization, is a mem-
ber of the Dance Masters of
America, Chicago National As-
sociation of the Dance Masters
and Checchitti Council of
America, Inc.
Lovett is again looking ahead
to another full schedule at the
school. All classes at the Lov-
ett School will be open to
beginners, intermediates and
those in advanced stages of
dancing.
Under the heading of ball-
room . dancing, the Lovett
School will be teaching a com-
plete repertoire of dance \ra-
rities. The current American
favorite, the Cha Cha, is one
of the Latin American dances
to be taught in this fall session
under the guidance of Lovett
and his experienced staff.
