Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sloan and son, Lance, of Washington,
D.C. were the guests of their parents and grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Alan Sloan, of Santa Clara Avenue.
Miss Lois Waldman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard
Waldman, of Oak Park, sailed last week for Europe for a visit
with her sister, Miss Elizabeth Waldman, in Germany. While
there, she will make an extended tour of the Continent, including
the Brussels World Fair. She will return to the United States in
September.
Mrs. Zelda Bornstein, of Israel, is currently here visiting
her sisters, Mrs. Joseph Zuckerman and Mrs. Jack Rothbard.
She arrived in time to help celebrate the golden anniversary
of Mr. and Mrs. Zuckerman, which was held at the Sheraton-
Cadillac Hotel.
A golden wedding anniversary party will be held this
weekend in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Brodsky, of San Antonio,
Tex. by the couple's children, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kay, Mr. and
Mrs. Morrie Brodsky and Mr. and Mrs_ Mitchell Schwartiman,
and their 10 grandchildren.
Miss Lillian Fischer, a native Detroiter now in Los Angeles
where she is director of the Women's Division of the Los Angeles
Committee for State of Israel Bonds, will be tendered a welcom-
ing reception at the home of Mrs. Edward Meltzer, chairman
of the women's board of governors, 614 N. Oakhurst, Beverly
Hills, on Tuesday afternoon. Miss Fischer was recently trans-
ferred from her post with the Detroit Bond committee.
Rabbi and Mrs. Israel I. Halpern, of 18681 Santa Rosa, were
at home Wednesday in honor of Mr.. Halpern's sister, Mrs.
Shoshana Frankel, and her daughters, Efrat and Reenah, of Kfar
Sabah, Israel, who are visiting here for 10 weeks. Mrs. Frankel
also is visiting her mother, Mrs. Sarah Rabinowitz, and her sister
and brother-in-law, Rabbi and Mrs. Yitschak Kaplan, of 3300
Waverly. The Frankels will stay here through Sept. 4. The reunion
represents the first get-together in 20 years.
Dr. and Mrs. Morris Bachman and daughter, Peggy, have
just returned from a week's stay in Montreal, Can., where Dr.
Bachman attended the International Congress of Gynecology
and Obstetrics. Doctors from 61 countries were represented at
the congress.
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Patrick, of 12795 Stoepel, who were
married on June 18, 1908, were feted on their golden wedding
anniversary at a family dinner party given by their children,
Morey and Harold Patrick, Mrs. Sadie Lahr, Mrs. Bertha Allen,
Mrs. Alyce Diamond and Mrs. Rosalyn Winer. After dinner, an
open house honoring the couple was held at the Allen residence
on W. Outer Dr. Among those attendir g were the Patricks' 12
grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Silverman returned on Tuesday from
their European tour. Mrs. Silverman visited in Israel for two
months before joining her husband in Europe.
Mr. Daniel H. Katz, formerly of Detroit and now a resident
of Honolulu, Hawaii. is vacationing here with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Katz, of 15141 Chippewa. Mr. Katz, a graduate of
Central High School and the University of Hawaii, is now a
police reporter for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. He will return
to Honolulu on July 11.

Wednesday evening, at the
Sheraton Cadillac Hotel, Deena
Merle Deutch, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Deutch, of Pen-
nington Dr., became the bride
of David Bernard Fishman, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Fish-
man, of Gloucester Rd. Rabbi
Morris Adler officiated.
The bride wore a gown of
white peau de soie with a
m o y e n-a g e neckline, orna-
mented with hand-corded Alen-
con lace motifs studded with
tiny pearls. A cap of the lace
held in place her two-tiered
fingertip veil of white silk
illusion.
The bride's sister, Mrs.
Harvey Altman, served as ma-
tron of honor, and bridesmaids
were Mrs. Alvin Fishman, Mrs.
Sorrel Coven, Mrs. Gerald Gold
and Barbara Matler.
Alvin Fishman was his
brother's best man. Ushers
were Harvey Altman, Sorrel
Coven, -- Glenn Grossman and
Donald Katkin.
Following a trip to the West
Coast, Mr. and Mrs. Deutch
will reside at the Belcrest.

I. Wander, became the bride
of Haskel Glaser, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Elia Glaser. Rabbi
Samuel Stollman and Cantor P.
Schankin, of Windsor, offici-
ated.
The bride's gown was of
white silk peau de soie, appli-
qued with Alencon lace and
styled with a fitted bodice and
princess line dome skirt, which
also was appliqued with gar-
lands of the lace and extended
into a chapel train.
A cap of matching lace held
her two-tiered veil of illusion,
and she carried white orchids
and stephanotis on a Bible.
Sharon Landsman, of North
Hollywood, Calif., was maid of
honor, and bridesmaids were
Florence Hoffman, Fay Moore
and Eleanor Landsman. Denise
Sniith was the flower girl.
David Glaser served as his
brother's best man, and ushers
included Rnoald Simco, Mel
Owens and Hershel Wander,
the bride's brother.
Following dinner and a re-
ception, the couple left for a
honeymoon in Chicago. Out-of-
town guests attended the wed-
ding from North Hollywood,
Jacksonville, Fla., Montreal,
Can., Cleveland, 0. and Lon-
don, Ont.
